Do you know what the Five County Association of Governments is? Do you know what it does? Do you know where it is?
We will hear from:
Bryan Thiriot, Executive Director of the
Five County Association of Governments who can answer all the questions above!
Next week:
On September 16th we will be a split personality Club. We will have a two part program!
After the Annual Board Strategic Planning session next week, President Charlotte will present the Goals and Plans for the year to the membership.
In addition, we will have a brief presentation from
St. George Regional Hospital
regarding resources available to the community (especially the business community that needs to stay viable) to help keep people and businesses going through whatever challenges we face this winter with COVID 19.
On September 23rd we will hear from
Kathy Hall of the Washington County School District on resuming the reading with kids literacy program.
We all know people who cannot read struggle throughout their lives. We can make a difference by giving just a small parcel of time to helping a child who is struggling with reading.
Other upcoming meetings:
The Service Committee will meet September 7th at 5:30 at the Schwartz home.
The Board will meet on Tuesday, September 14th at 1:00 for a half day strategic planning session. Details to follow.
Literacy Committee will meet on Thursday September 16th at 1:30 in the Root for Kids Conference Room.

ROAD CLEANUP TIME!
Richard Schwartz has volunteered to get us organized and out on Dixie Drive to do our Fall Cleanup!
The plan is to meet at 7:30 a.m on Saturday, September 11th at Tonaquint Park. Breakfast will be available afterward at DeDe's
Are you signed up to help with
Aid station 4 - OUR SPOT - needs your help. It is great fun. Please see Dave Nelson's invitation for details.
Mobile Food Bank project:
Please note, the Food Bank packing and distribution will follow a slightly different format this month.
Packaging will take place at the Food Bank on Tuesday, September 28th.
Distribution on Wednesday the 29th and
Thursday the 30th.

We are invited to join other local Rotary Clubs in helping with the massive effort of putting together the welcome packets for the Huntsman Games. Many hands will make the work go quickly.
September 28th and 29th at The Dixie Center
As you are aware, our Club sponsored the Rotary Satellite Club of Southern Utah Veterans.
We are happy to see members of their club joining us from time to time and hope perhaps some of you would like to attend a meeting with them.
They meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5:30 at the Elks Lodge.

Our meetings currently are in-person only. The Zoom option has been discontinued as the demand for virtual coverage has waned. Should it be necessary to reinstate that format the Board will consider that possibility.
