Dear Rotarians,

Welcome to the Rotary Club of St. George Sunrise — a club I truly believe is one of the finest in our District, and beyond. I want to thank each of you for showing up week after week, sacrificing sleep to serve others with purpose and enthusiasm. As someone who isn’t naturally a morning person, I’m especially grateful to Mary for her dedication to driving “ Miss Lazy” and her 6:15 a.m. rides.

August holds a special place in my heart. It’s the month of my birthday (on the 13th), but more than that, it brings back memories of family camping trips through National Parks. I recently revisited those cherished experiences during a stargazing event at Cedar Breaks National Monument — a remarkable reminder of the beauty around us and the volunteers who help us see it more clearly. I encourage you to attend if you’re looking for a meaningful summer experience.

Next week, I’ll be away in Punta Cana with my daughter and grandkids. While her husband can’t join us, we’ll be joined by her friend from college — a New York actress. Let’s just say, it promises to be an adventure!

Now back on my feet, I was proud to join many of you at the Backpack for Kids project last Friday. Your commitment to service is inspiring, and I’m excited about several new ideas we’re exploring to deepen our impact in the community. Stay tuned.

Looking ahead, our District Conference is right here in St. George from September 18–20. Let’s show our club spirit by aiming for record attendance. If you attend our weekly meetings, I hope you’ll join us at the conference, too. Register by this Friday to save $25. If the cost is a barrier, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.
