Toiletries for Millcreek High School!  Let's get the school year off to a good start by stocking the toiletries supply closet.  As you look around your bathrooms, think to yourselves, if I need this so will they.  Hygiene products for the girls are always critical.  One item that was mentioned to us by the school is lotion.  They said for some reason no one thinks about lotion and in this dry climate it is a need.   We will have a representative of Millcreek with us on August 11th to receive our donations. Please be generous as you shop.  Just toss in an extra toothpaste or deodorant stick.

And, on August 13th there will be a food distribution at the Red Cliffs Mass from 8:30 to 10:30.  Come lend a hand if you ca

As you are aware, our Club sponsored the Rotary Satellite Club of Southern Utah Veterans.

We are happy to see members of their club joining us from time to time and hope perhaps some of you would like to attend a meeting with them.

They meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 6 pm at the Elks Lodge.

Thanks Veterans Club for your service!

As you heard last week, the very disturbing news is that a case of Polio has been detected in New York.  Yes, right here in the USA!!!!

As of right now we have no further news on that event.  Sandi will share with us any news as it comes.

*Note: our community has an endless number of absolutely critical needs and needs help from our citizens.  However, as a Rotary Club we cannot be all things to all people.  So only those service opportunities approved by the Board will be listed in this bulletin.  If you have project you wish our members to support, please submit your request to President Charlotte prior to the Board Meeting each month.   Thank you!

A Message from President Dave

I am honored to serve as your president this year.  As all of you know we are members of the best club in Utah and I will do my best to keep that honor.  We are very much a service oriented club and I plan to keep that as our main focus.  We do have a new board and several new committee chairs in place and they will lead us into the new year.  I ask everyone to give them your support.  They have a tough job, but with your help they will all be successful.

I have two major goals for this year.  My first goal is to complete the merger of the Dixie Sunrise and Red Rock clubs into the Saint George Sunrise Club.  Our two clubs are a perfect match.  We have many issues to work through and none are impossible.  We will from a merger committee to work through all the issues and to keep the club informed on their progress. The second goal is to continue supporting the veterans club and help the club grow in membership and expand their influence in the community.  We will accomplish this with the excellent leadership of the club's president, Doug Walk and his team.

So as you know I have asked all of you to just give the club at least two hours a month.  Some already do a lot more and if we can add more  hours IMAGINE how much more we can accomplish.
