A Message from President Darrin
DARRIN Hallman

The Rotary theme for 2024-2025 is the “Magic of Rotary”. Magic can be described as making things happen that would usually be impossible. Rotary has created a tremendous amount of Magic in the world. Some of this magic includes developing parks, cleaning up litter, providing essential food and clean water, delivering much-needed education, promoting literacy, and global health projects like eradicating polio from the planet. All of these accomplishments were made possible by the service, and generous donations, provided by individual Rotarians working together towards these common goals to make the world a better place. Together Rotarians have changed the lives of individuals, and improved communities in our backyards, and across the globe. May each one of us contribute to the Magic of Rotary in the coming year, by doing our part to contribute to these worthwhile projects here in our community, and around the world.

Welcome to the 2024-25
Rotary Year!

St. George Sunrise Rotary
District 5420
2023-2024 Club of the Year

President, Darrin Hallman,
and members of our Club welcome you to share in the work of this great group.

This week:

Thanksgiving!

No meeting this week!
Skip breakfast, eat turkey (or ham or prime rib or pizza)!
Darrin and the Board wish all a wonderful day in whatever form your Thanksgiving takes this year.

Next week: December 5th (yes, it is already December) will be
The Annual Meeting and election of officers.

December 12th, our meeting will be a presentation on the work of
Encircle, St. George

And, on December 19th, we will celebrate Christmas in a way most fitting for Rotarians, a service project meeting.
Please come prepared to fill bags (please note size of bags) with gifts for our elderly and disabled shut ins.

Some suggestions:
lotions, shaving cream, razors, Christmas soaps, work search and pubble books, combs, berushes, socks, Christmas towels, note cards, tissue. Anything fun that you can fit into the smaller size bags.  Please consider enough items to fill 6 bags.

Service Above self.
One of our own needs our help.
Hal Eward,  a long term member of the Dixie Sunrise Rotary Club and member of the St. George Sunrise Veteran's club is having stability problems.  His wife has called the fire department twice for assistance getting him into a chair.  If Rotarians could visit and talk to him and assist him walking occasionally, he would feel better being at home. Please reach out to Tony Damiano for details.

The Root for Kids Annual Radiothon will be on Wednesday, December 11th.
from 7am -6pm at the offices off of Toniquant Drive. This all day community helps get donations for diapers, loose change, and supplies to help us serve the children of Southern Utah. Call Michelle Sundberg at Root for Kids if you can volunteer to help or just drop off you donations at the office on December 11th.

Food Bank!
December dates:
December 18th:  Bagging and Boxing at the UFB Warehouse
December 31st:  Distribution at the Church on Valley View (7:45-10:00)

See Jil to sign up: there are open spots ready for you to fill on December 21st.  Can you help?

And, finally, please stay tuned for details about how YOU can help the St. George Children's Museum on December 28th with the
