Note from a previous meeting:  We ran out of time with Jim Lewis and his work on Polio a couple of weeks ago and did not have time for the YouTube Video.  It really is excellent so I am attaching the address of that video.  If you have a couple of minutes, it is worth the watch.

From Sandi!

December 28, 2021 I have reserved 15 volunteer slots to go to Irwindale, California to work on the Rotary Rose Parade Float for 2022.
We are slated to work 4-11pm that day. I have 5 slots remaining to first come first serve and 4 alternate slots in case anyone cancels. I will have more information regarding check in as we get closer to the event. They will have event shirts and dinner for us. It is a warehouse and will be cold so layer clothes under the event shirt. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, please contact me: Sandi Schwartz 661-706-6663 or email at sandischwartzdg1819@gmail.com
You will be responsible for transportation and hotel reservations.

Oh no!  Christmas really is just around the corner!  Please keep in mind that we will be again providing donations to the Millcreek Alternative School. Please keep this project in mind as you are shopping.  If you run into a great sale, pick up and item or two!

MILLCREEK HIGH SCHOOL WARM CLOTHING DRIVE

WHAT WE NEED: socks blankets gloves
hats sweatshirts/jackets tights/leggings

mens + women's, all sizes needed, must be new

LAST DAY TO BRING CLOTHES TO ROTARY IS NOVEMBER 18TH

You may bring items to the meeting.  Kim has generously offered storage space as items come in.

We will be doing the gift bags for the Senior Shut Ins as well.  So, the same message goes here, if you see personal items appropriate to those bags be sure to grab a few.

New opportunities!

Our Club is launching a new way for you and your friends to be of service!

We will be visiting Snow Canyon State Park monthly, on  on the  second Saturday of the month (this month that will fall on October 13th) to do trail maintenance.  Sandi Schwartz will be leading this work project.  See her for more details.

The Reading program has launched!

A Little Library has been placed at Dixie Sun Manor (and adult facility).  That location needs books for adults (westerns, mystery, romance, history, etc.).  If you have recently finished a book or two or have some laying around collecting dust, please bring to the meeting this week - or anytime - to help keep the library supplied

Our Club will again be participating in honoring those veteran's in our community who have passed on by placing flags on the veterans' graves at the Tonaquint Cemetery this Saturday, November 6th.

*Note: our community has an endless number of absolutely critical needs and needs help from our citizens.  However, as a Rotary Club we cannot be all things to all people.  So only those service opportunities approved by the Board will be listed in this bulletin.  If you have project you wish our members to support, please submit your request to President Charlotte prior to the Board Meeting each month.   Thank you!

As you are aware, our Club sponsored the Rotary Satellite Club of Southern Utah Veterans.

We are happy to see members of their club joining us from time to time and hope perhaps some of you would like to attend a meeting with them.

They meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5:30 at the Elks Lodge.

Notes of Interest from the Veterans:

The regular Club meeting for November will be to gather and place flags honoring veterans at the Sant Clara cemetery.  That will take place at 9:00 a.m. on November 6th.

The Club has also been busy assisting the Marine Corp League with the Toys for Tots Program.

Thanks Veterans Club for your service!
