Due to recently expressed concerns locally, from District 5420, and from RI over disease spread (Covid AND the awful strain of flu this year) we are temporarily reinstating the Zoom connection for our meetings. The on-going use of Zoom will depend on the use of it by our members but for now we are adding it.
NOTE: these are hybrind meetings. You may attend in person at The Bloomington Country Club OR you can attend via Zoom.

POLIO
NOW
Greetings Polio Warriors:
Note: Due to the time it takes to investigate, confirm and report wild polio cases,
actual final numbers for 2022 may not be available until February or March of 2022.
However, that being said, the preliminary numbers are below.
WILD POLIO VIRUS - I'm excited to say once again, for the 10th week
in a row, that there were no new cases of the wild poliovirus last week in
the World.
SIXTY-NINE - The number of days since the last case of
the wild poliovirus Type 1 (WPV1) occurred in Afghanistan.
THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SEVEN - The number of days since the
last case of the wild poliovirus Type 1 (WPV1) occurred in Pakistan
ZERO - The total number of cases of the wild poliovirus Type 1 (WPV1)
that has occurred in 2022 year-to-date.
FIVE - The total number of cases of the wild poliovirus Type 1 (WPV1) that
occurred in 2021.
ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY - The total number of cases of the wild
poliovirus Type 1 (WPV1) that occurred in 2020.
Also, once again, there were no new cases of wild Positive Environmental
Samples reported. So the total count of wild Positive Environmental
Samples reported in the year 2021 remains at 66 (65 in Pakistan and 1 in
Afghanistan), with the last positive sample discovered in Pakistan on
December 6th.
We can once again celebrate the zero cases of wild polio and zero
cases of wild positive environmental samples……Happy Dance, Happy
Dance……Ready... Set...Go (9)!!!
As you are aware, our Club sponsored the Rotary Satellite Club of Southern Utah Veterans.
We are happy to see members of their club joining us from time to time and hope perhaps some of you would like to attend a meeting with them.
They meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5:30 at the Elks Lodge.
Thanks Veterans Club for your service!
