Snow Canyon is a tortoise sanctuary. Many illegal trails pop up and threaten their lives. This project throws rocks on up on the illegal trails to detear their use. Bring water and gloves. 

Lets all show Mike our support in his year and attend this great event.  It will be fun.  

Join your fellow Club members in the Changing of the Guard from Dave to Mike!  This will be a BBQ dinner at the Washington County Fairgrounds (pavillion) from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16th.  This will be a catered dinner, not a hamburger/hot dog event.  Even though the Fairgrounds are public area, we are a private party so you can  BYOB.  There will be NO COST to Rotarians of all service categories (traditional, Veteran or service).  This is a Club Thank You party and we want eveyone to come.  The cost for spouses and guests will be $40 each. Pleae provide your RSVP so we can plan the food. 

June 2023 Food Bagging  and Food Drive

Let's beat the heat and get out early to clean up our section of Dixie Drive and then head over to Bishops at 8:30 to beat the crowd for breakfast to celebrate our efforts to keep our roads clean. Meet at Tonaquint Park parking lot. Bring gloves, trash pickers if you have one, and water. See you there!!

Weather permitting we will go throw some rock on the illegal trails to help our tortoises thrive. Meet at the base of Red Mountain on 100 E in Ivins. Bring gloves and water!!!

This year again we will support the Backpacks for Kids Program.  We will need all the help we can get on Friday, August 11 between  9:00am and 12:00pm to help assemble school backpacks.  The location will be the LDS Church at 82 N Dixie Dr, Saint George, UT 84770.  

Spend the one hour a week improving the reading skills of 3rd grade students.  Statistics show that if a student can't read by the end of 3rd grade, their chances of learning to read become more and more improbable. The volunteer spends 15 minutes x 4 students in that hour listening, helping with words and comprehension for the reader. The teachers select the appropriate books for you and the student to use. The students are tested prior to the start of the program and at the end. Over the last two years of the program, all but 2 students significantly improved their reading skills and comprehension. If this is something you would like to participate in, contact Sandi Schwartz at 661-706-6663 and let her know what day of the week you are available. If you would like to substitute, that is also an option.

Our quarterly clean up of Dixie Drive from Tonoquint Park north to Valley View. Meet at 8 am and walk the street with the team. Always fun to have fellowship with each other. Wear gloves and hopefully we will have cooler weather so maybe layer a bit. For those who want to go to breakfast after, we will go to Bishops on Sunset Drive in the Alberstons parking lot.
