Trying to Save our famous tortoises in Snow Canyon.
On the second Saturday of the month (weather permitting), Dixie Sunrise Rotary Club will work on the illegal trails in Snow Canyon State Park that pop up along tortoise habitat which endanger their survival. Volunteers will place signs warning those who violate the area to stop designing off road trails where the turtles live. By placing large rocks and boulders on the trails which make riding them impossible, the volunteers will hopefully deter those from using the area for illegal recreation.  Today we concentrated on an area where mountain bikers have been creating tracks across some ridges.  Roughing out the tracks and placing illegal trail signs hopefully will deter any further encroachment.
